Dr. Curtis Shaffer has been practicing optometry since 2003 and serving patients at Eye Associates since 2014. He received his optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee and is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO). Dr. Shaffer has a special interest in caring for the vision of patients living with diabetes. “My wife is a type 1 diabetic with an insulin pump. Her disease reminds me everyday why diabetes and ocular health is so important,” he said. “I love the challenge of giving my patients the best vision I can give them and to make their time at Eye Associates as comfortable as possible.”

Dr. Shaffer not only serves patients; he also serves his country. A Lieutenant Colonel in the Mississippi Air National Guard, Dr. Shaffer credits his passion for military service to the nine years he spent in Germany as an Army dependent. In his spare time, Dr. Shaffer loves to restore old muscle cars and work with his hands.
