downtime for LASIK?

Most people can return to work within a day or two after their LASIK procedure. However, we do advise no heavyifting or straining for 1 week.

What is the pain level of LASIK?

Most people experience mild discomfort during their LASIK procedure from the suction device that is placed on their eye. However, this is not usually painful and is over within about twenty seconds. People can also expect some redness, irritation and mild discomfort beginning a few hours after their LASIK procedure once the numbing medicine wears off. Again however, this is not usually painful and resolves within the first day or two of the procedure. Using preservative free artificial tears and being complaint with your pre and post-operative drops is the best way to help this resolve quickly.

Some people will experience mild irritation and dryness for days or even months after
their surgery. Every patient is different and will also heal differently after their LASIK
procedure. It is very important to keep all follow up appointments as directed.
